We appreciate everyone's help spreading the word about our LRNG Philly Design Contest!  Based on your feedback, we have postponed the Contest deadlines (including the Pitch Night).  We've decided to retool our approach to make it easier for organizations new to badging to get engaged.

Our partners currently using LRNG locally and in our sister cities across the nation have already been exploring the exciting ways digital badging is helping educators deliver their content to youth.  We recognize we need to do more outreach to expand our network here in Philadelphia, and we want you involved!


My organization was in the process of submitting or already submitted an application to the Design Contest!  What should we do?  Will submitted applications be lost?
Not at all!  We still have submitted applications, and for organizations planning on submitting—hold on to them!  We are happy to meet with organizations, review applications (submitted or in process) and make suggestions on ways to strengthen ideas.  We'll reach out or you can contact us directly to set up a time to chat: info@digitalonramps.com.  We still want you involved!


My organization has never used digital badges before, but we are interested in exploring the idea.  Can we still work with you even if we're unsure?
Yes!  The spirit of this contest is to engage organizations that are new to badging.  We certainly don't expect an organization to create a badging program overnight.  Instead, meet with us and we can help you determine programs that may be ripe for badging and ways it could be implemented using existing curriculum or new ideas in line with your work and with the support of your team already on staff.


I get the concept of digital badging, but the idea of Playlists, XPs, and creating new ideas based on this model is confusing.  Where should my organization start?
Contact us!  We're available and more than eager to sit down with your organization, discuss badging and the LRNG Platform, and how it could be useful to your organization and—most importantly—your learners.


When will you announce the new deadlines for submission, and will the Contest rules change?
Look for an announcement from us by late-spring or early-summer.  We want to take our time and make sure we reach all organizations interested in participating.  Organizations already engaged in the Contest will still be eligible for the new Contest.  We will notify currently engaged participants of any major changes and work with you to make sure your ideas are accurately represented and submitted.  We'll also be hosting events for all interested organizations leading up to the new deadline, so be on the lookout!


Should I still continue to tell people about the Contest?  Organizations may be hesitant to participate if there's no deadline.
We understand!  Keep in mind that the deadline will be announced and a funding opportunity still exists.  Right now we want to make sure organizations have enough support to submit the best application possible, and we're here to help with that!  DOR urges you to continue to share with organizations who may be interested in test-driving digital badging.  We understand it may feel risky for an organization, but we're willing to work with you to explore new ways to deliver learning opportunities for youth.
